Matt Smith to carry the Olympic Torch through Cardiff
The Official Doctor Who twitter feed has confirmed that Matt Smith will carry the Olympic Torch through Cardiff on Saturday 26th May 2012. The Doctor Who feed announced the following.
#whowillrun We can confirm that Matt Smith will start the #torchrelay in Cardiff tomorrow (Saturday)!
Matt Smith told us, “To carry the Torch is an honour, one I thought I’d never get, I’m very excited!” Good luck, Matt!
For those who are outside of Cardiff and would be unable to attend. A live feed is available on the official Olympic 2012 Torch Relay website. There is currently no time scheduled for when Matt’s Olympic Relay will begin but it will most likely be in the morning. If I find the time I will update this page with the information.
Now all we need is for David Tennant to light the Olympic Flame in London. After all, if he doesn’t light it. It risks creating a crack in the skin of the universe.
UPDATE: Further details released by the BBC.
Matt’s part of the relay begins at approximately 6.20am on Saturday, 26 May at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Harbour Drive, Cardiff Bay, CF10 4PA. He will hand over the Olympic Flame at the Senedd, National Assembly Building, Cardiff, CF99 1NA.
UPDATE 2: Photos of the Event can be found here and a BBC Interview video can be watched here.
